Kinder Design is an interior design studio for residential, commercial, urban and rural spaces. Our process is collaborative and resourceful – we design thoughtfully and transform unloved sites into characterful and practical homes, workplaces and community spaces.
We define our house style as ‘Eclectic Minimal’. We create pared back, clutter free designs where every piece of furniture is chosen for its intrinsic value and has space to breathe. We like clean, modern lines and use colour confidently to achieve calm yet characterful spaces.

Our approach will always be collaborative, empathetic, and centred on you. Every project begins with an engaged conversation. We’ll meet you on site and ask lots of questions to help understand your needs, values, and routines – ensuring we then have a detailed brief and clear sense of budget needed to transform your space.
DESIGN CONCEPT
Creative research and fresh perspectives…
This is the fun bit. We’ll scope out ideas, map the room and furniture layouts, and bring lots of creative energy to the project. We suggest colour palettes and outline room schemes, proposing exciting, thoughtful choices and opening your eyes to design possibilities. At the end of this stage we aim for clarity of overall design concept.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The details matter…
One step closer to your ideal interior. We evolve the concept design, getting into the finer details so that everything is priced up and planned for. We often work alongside architects at this stage, supporting with final drawings for any detailed joinery, kitchen or bathroom designs and/or creating tender packages for contractors.
BUYING AND BUILDING
Bringing the design to life…
Furniture, fittings, and equipment are purchased, stored and delivered. Our experience collaborating with architects and contractors means we can oversee any construction work for you if required. Clients appreciate our efficiency, reliability, and clear communication at this intense stage of the process.
INSTALLATION AND AFTERCARE
Support down to the last light switch…
Meticulous attention to detail is essential at this point to ensure everything is flawless. We’ll make sure that your space is exactly as you want it and resolve any snagging issues. Product maintenance manuals are shared with you. We can help with styling and finishing touches if required.
